First step - deciding what my album/project would look like. I recently bought a Smash book and haven't decided what to do with it yet - I think using it for Week in the Life is perfect.
I'll be jotting down notes throughout the day using Ali Edwards' Daily Sheets (a free download). My plan is to sit down during the boys' naptimes and write, as well as capturing little bits here and there during the day. I'll leave these sheets on my desk, easily accessible.
And of course, I'll be taking LOTS of pictures!! I plan to carry around my big Olympus e-410 DSLR as much as possible, but will take my little Kodak EasyShare M1093 whenever we go somewhere. It should be a pretty average week, couple doctor's appointments, Bible study, and hopefully a trip to the park.
At the end of each day, after the boys are in bed, I will upload the day's photos onto my computer and scan in the Daily Sheets. I'll also sort through the photos and choose the ones I want to print, drop them into Sahlin Studio's Insta-frame Templates, and format on a 4x6 size to print somewhere local, probably Walgreens (although I will wait until next week and print everything in one batch). I also might start filling out some journaling cards at this point.
Here's a peek at the planning notes in my journal, and a few of the paper products/journaling cards I gathered from my stash to use in the final album. I wanted to test out the Insta-frames - what do you think?
And now, time to get some rest, cut out a few more bits and pieces, charge the cameras, and prepare to capture a snapshot of our lives! I hope you'll follow along with me as I post photos and words each day this week, and then put the whole album together next week!
